Fellowship through the Basis of Being

Imagine a world where humanity is the most important asset. Do you think that is the way it is now? If so, think again! Pick up any paper or watch any news program and witness the inhumanity that mankind commits against itself. We wage war on one another over political and religious ideologies and care more about the wealth we can acquire over all else. We are a world of self-aggrandizing and intolerable people. There are those who say we have lost our way and forgotten what is important. In reality, we really haven't lost sight of what is important, because we have never truly known what IS important. Nobody is going to tell you what is important. If they do, then you need to ask yourself if what they are telling you is important to you or them. Take all advice with a grain of salt and examine the motivation behind it. Hopefully, you may soon learn what is important on your own.

On our own we see that our lives our important, as are those of our loved ones and friends. We want good things for those around us and ourselves. Until we can hold life in its highest regard, we are prisoners. Every major world religion revolves around death. Whether it is through the teachings of the religion itself or due to the twisting of the teachings is unimportant. We must worry less about death and dying and live life to live, not live life in fear of death. There is nothing wrong with having spiritual concerns if that is the path you choose to follow, but when they overshadow your ability to live or live in harmony with others it is time to re-examine what you believe.

Be a leader and all others with follow. This statement is really bigger than that, though. Don't lead to be leading or for some kind of power trip, lead because you know the way. Lead because you burn the path before you and you want others to follow. If you truly have what it takes, then others will follow in your wake.

We have heard it said that the power of one voice has the power to change. But we have never seen results of this, at least not in a timely manner. The power of one voice does have the power to change things, but only if that voice gets involved. If it is something that one can affect, help change it; with voice and action. Others will eventually take notice and follow suit; lending their voice and action to yours. The results will resonate geometrically and affect people in ways you could never imagine.

Opportunities present themselves on a daily basis and often in strange or unusual ways. Stay mindful and do not let one pass you by. The most innocuous seeming idea can yield great results in the long run, but to take advantage of it you must see it for what it is.

Look at the big picture. Take it all in. Sure, the here and now IS important, but no so that it clouds what may come. Plan ahead, even if it's just an inkling of a notion; that way, there is at least a partially defined path to follow. Sometimes, we must set out on our path without knowing where we are going. This may be necessary. The path can be defined and made clear along the way. The important thing is to progress. Set a goal and achieve it. Uncertainty is natural but is nothing to fear and should not be something that holds you back from achieving your goals.

The self is the cause and the effect, and the self is a god; pure energy. The self is energy that can be freely given and used, or horded and coveted; like clay it can be molded to do or be whatever one wishes. It is up to the individual whom molds the clay, and through molding, the individual decides how the energy is constructed, and for what it is ultimately utilized. The self acts as the vehicle, which can be manipulated, driven to where it needs to, or should, go; like destiny, but not predetermined.

This is free will. Free will is not necessarily some divine gift given to us from some supernatural force, but a condition of being human. This allows for us to choose our own destiny, regardless of whether we choose to be good or evil or neither. Day by day, moment-to-moment, we essentially follow our destiny by choosing which path to follow, not the destination. The path is life; the Basis of Being is merely a travel guide. It relates some relevant facts, safety information, and scenic spots along the path but it is not all encompassing nor is it intended to be.

Without this will our lives would be motionless and without meaning. We would already be at our destination; the journey would be over or at the very least, pointless. Our accomplishments would be wasted, the love we have for ourselves and others would be meaningless. Decisions are not made for us - we make them ourselves and it is up to us to make those decisions worthwhile and meaningful.

Energy exists in every atom. Energy is neither good nor evil. It is an unqualified agent for our use. We qualify it as good or evil, and use it accordingly. Good and evil is about morals; a pure and simple matter of ethics. Someone is not born evil; they become evil through conscious choice. The point is, the individual chooses to use the energy in such a manner; a supernatural deity does not impose it. The individual forged their own path with their own will. This means there are no excuses for our behavior and must hold ourselves accountable for what we do. How is that for a unique outlook on life?

The decision is yours, to follow life's path with the Basis of Being as your guide, or not. Remember, a guide is not someone who leads to lead; a guide leads by example and expects one to forge ahead with it, or even without it. Consider these words, and by your own free will choose walk the path with the Basis of Being.

Book 1: Chapter 3: Maxim 19: Giving is one of the blessings of life itself. Begin working on yourself, only sharing your changes with others by example, unless asked. If no one inquires, silence may be the greatest gift of all.
